Photography is about capturing moments that push the limits of creativity and endurance. My shoot at The Sphere in Las Vegas was a prime example. In August, with temperatures reaching 116°F and steel beams at 140°F, I faced the challenge of recreating the iconic Empire State Building lunch-on-a-beam photo—only this time, the backdrop was the scorching desert.
Instead of using my drone, I opted for a more daring approach: a man basket suspended 400 feet in the air by a crane. There, amidst the extreme heat, I captured the steel workers perched on beams, unbothered by the height and heat, embodying industrial grit and determination.
Safety was a top priority, with hydration and regular cooldowns ensuring everyone’s well-being. As a photographer, I adapted to the conditions, finding new perspectives from every angle, all while capturing the vastness of The Sphere’s structure.
This shoot was more than just a job; it was a celebration of resilience, teamwork, and the human spirit in the face of extreme conditions. For companies seeking a dynamic, passionate industrial or drone photographer, I invite you to explore my work and collaborate on capturing your vision.
